Software QA Engineer II – Automation
Arthrex is a global medical device company focusing on orthopedics. We are seeking a Software QA Engineer II – Automation to work with engineering departments in Santa Barbara, CA. The role is onsite and will support our California technology teams.
Salary Range: $103,951 – $175,350
Key Responsibilities
Support complex release projects including test planning, scheduling, resource planning and training, test development, execution, defect management, status reporting, and project closure.
Apply test methodology, define test strategy and types of testing to assure quality of usability, functionality, security, and performance.
Perform testing assignments, including integrations, performance testing, and data migration for large implementations or major release projects.
Work with infrastructure and application teams to establish and maintain test environments.
Communicate issues to development leads and managers, assist triage and resolution; advise on design and process improvements.
Represent SQA in development, project planning, and requirement gathering meetings; provide status updates and meet deadlines.
Contribute to SQA metrics such as requirements coverage, test case readiness, execution progress, and defect counts in the test management tool.
Automate test cases using the C# automated testing framework; add them to the nightly run and log bugs when failures occur.
Knowledge & Reasoning
Intermediate testing skills with partial to full knowledge of Arthrex business systems; develop test cases, automated scripts, test plan documentation, and test summary reports.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make valid conclusions; solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Skills
Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and the role of SQA.
Knowledge of programming languages and technologies (relational databases, SQL, XML/JSON, C#, Python, MongoDB); experience with Selenium, Appium, and Jenkins.
Ability to document test plans, test cases, and results.
Experience with Jira, Zephyr or other test management systems and with Agile practice.
