Brooksource is seeking a Junior Technical Release Engineer to join our Fortune 500 banking client’s Banking, Invest, Lending, and Digital (BILD) Tech team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time, hybrid role is ideal for recent graduates from universities or bootcamps, veterans, or individuals with up to one year of professional IT experience who have a long-term interest in technology. You will play a key role in supporting Release Management and Environments Management functions by tracking and driving strategic work efforts, identifying and implementing process improvements, maintaining team documentation, and coordinating test environment needs for strategic initiatives. Your contributions will help ensure the team remains focused on modernization, automation, and engineering excellence within a dynamic and collaborative environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own and manage project plans for release automation strategy and other modernization and improvement initiatives Identify and implement process improvements to enhance release and environments management functions Create, maintain, and improve team documentation in Confluence Proactively drive resolution of escalated environment outages, team blockers, and other impediments with unclear ownership Coordinate with delivery and tech leads from development teams to identify special environment needs and track environment configuration activities for strategic initiatives Support strategic work efforts aligned with modernization, automation, and engineering excellence Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective release management and environment coordination Utilize project tracking and release management tools (e.g., Jira, version control systems) to support team operations WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor's degree or bootcamp in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management processes Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality Familiarity with Agile methodologies Analytical and logical problem-solving skills Experience with Jira or related project tracking tools (nice to have) Experience with release management tools and version control systems (nice to have) WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
