Regulatory Affairs Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented

Regulatory Affairs Specialist

to support compliance and product approval activities within our food manufacturing operations. This role ensures that all products, processes, labeling, and communications meet applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and experienced with U.S. (FDA, USDA), and/or international food regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor, interpret, and implement regulatory requirements affecting food manufacturing, labeling, ingredients, packaging, and claims.

Prepare, review, and maintain regulatory documentation, including product formulations, specifications, safety data, and technical files.

Review and approve product labels and marketing materials to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards.

Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, Operations, Procurement, and Marketing to guide regulatory strategy throughout the product lifecycle.

Manage submissions for product approvals, registrations, and certifications where required (e.g., FDA submissions, USDA label approvals, state registrations, international market dossiers).

Conduct regulatory risk assessments for new ingredients, suppliers, and product formulations.

Serve as a point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and customer compliance reviews.

Track global regulatory trends and communicate potential impacts to internal teams.

Support recall readiness, change control processes, and corrective actions related to compliance issues.

Maintain internal regulatory databases and ensure document control accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Nutrition, or related field (Master’s preferred).

2–5+ years of regulatory experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or related industry.

Strong knowledge of FDA 21 CFR food regulations, FSMA, USDA labeling requirements, and relevant international standards (e.g., CFIA, EFSA, Codex) is a plus.

Experience with ingredient assessments, allergen regulations, and claims substantiation.

Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with regulatory databases and labeling software.

Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety quality systems.

Familiarity with import/export documentation and global regulatory frameworks.

Certification in Regulatory Affairs (RAC) is an advantage.
