Schedule:Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3 PM

Our client is an established marine services provider with a nationwide footprint in the defense and maritime sectors.

As the HR Coordinator, you’ll be the face of HR to employees – the go-to person who keeps things running smoothly while making sure every employee feels supported. You’ll help with everything from accurate HR records and staffing coordination to onboarding new team members and partnering closely with Operations, Payroll, and HR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain HR/Payroll systems (Kronos) to document employee status and work assignments; compile data and prepare staffing and payroll reports.

  • Process staffing requests including preparing paperwork, coordinating with unions, and documenting efforts to secure staffing.

  • Coordinate recruitment support such as job postings, scheduling interviews, and tracking candidate progress.

  • Assist employees with timekeeping, paychecks, attendance tracking, and scheduling questions.

  • Support new hire onboarding including first-day paperwork, safety orientation, and compliance requirements.

  • Apply knowledge of collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance and address employee questions.

  • Perform general administrative functions such as handling correspondence, processing unemployment claims, and maintaining office supplies.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Customer Service or Human Resources role.

  • Strong knowledge of office procedures and recordkeeping practices.

  • Proficiency with PC applications including Word, Excel, and databases; experience with Kronos HR/Payroll systems preferred.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide excellent internal customer service.
