BIM Specialist
Job Description
The BIM Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the design and construction of mechanical systems, including industrial piping, HVAC, and high-purity installations. This position ensures effective implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes to deliver high-quality, coordinated, and constructible designs aligning with safety, quality, and integrity principles.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage BIM models for mechanical systems across industrial, commercial, and high-purity projects.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure accurate integration of piping, HVAC, and utility systems.
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts between disciplines using BIM software such as Revit.
Generate construction documents and shop drawings directly from BIM models to support fabrication and installation.
Maintain BIM standards and workflows consistent with the design-build approach.
Support project delivery by providing 3D visualization and technical input during planning and construction phases.
Train and mentor team members on BIM tools and best practices.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM software.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems including piping, HVAC, and high-purity installations.
Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineers, contractors, and clients.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2–5 years of BIM experience in mechanical contracting, HVAC, or industrial piping projects.
Knowledge of fabrication software is a plus.
Work Environment This position offers a flexible work environment with opportunities for both remote work and occasional on-site presence. The role requires proficiency in Windows 11, MS Office, AutoCAD 2024 or better, Navisworks 2024 or better, Revit 2024 using CADMEP fabrication parts, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Nemetschek - Bluebeam. Optional experience with AutoCAD Fabrication CADMEP 2024 or better and Point Cloud Handling is advantageous. The company offers a lot of flexibility, professional growth, and project exposure.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
