General Description:
Under general supervision of the Plant Operations Director, the Plant Operations Specialist supports and maintains the organization’s facility operations, buildings, and grounds. The role includes minor maintenance, repairs, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and construction of wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, and partitions using hand and power tools. The specialist also participates in rotating after‑hours/weekend on‑call support.
Responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining physical structure and associated equipment in good repair.
Perform minor maintenance, repairs, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC duties.
Construct, repair, and maintain wooden structures (furniture, partitions, etc.) using hand and power tools.
Participate in rotating after‑hours/weekend on‑call support.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural building systems.
Desirable certifications in plant systems equipment.
Strong oral communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
Proficient in carpentry, boiler water testing, plumbing, painting/plastering, and related skills.
Knowledge of fire alarm or building security systems and safety precautions.
