Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
Key Purpose Shoptalk is looking for a Senior Event Operations Manager to lead the planning and execution of large‑scale event logistics, ensuring a world‑class experience for our attendees and partners. In this role, you’ll oversee complex operational workflows, manage vendor relationships, and guide the delivery of event operations across our Shoptalk and Groceryshop portfolio.
As a senior leader on the Operations team, you’ll drive process improvement, budget management, and innovation, collaborating cross‑functionally to elevate event quality and efficiency. We’re looking for a proactive, solutions‑focused professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and brings creative ideas to enhance every aspect of the attendee journey.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the strategic planning and execution of high‑value programs, manage budgets, vendor partnerships, operational delivery, and create operational efficiencies to elevate the attendee experience across large‑scale events.
Lead, mentor, and manage cross‑functional and temporary event teams, including staff and contractors, ensuring seamless coordination, training, and delivery across multiple show environments.
Direct the design and execution of secondary events, in partnership with other cross‑functional teams.
Partner with the Event Director and senior stakeholders and vendors to oversee all event logistics, including AV, catering, signage, décor, Retailer & Consumer Brand Programs, Meetup, Tabletalks, and other core event components.
Own the management of event documentation, show orders, and onsite operations, driving process efficiency, compliance, and consistency across all event touchpoints.
Leverage post‑show data and performance insights to inform strategic planning, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and enhance operational outcomes.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement, staying ahead of industry trends and collaborating cross‑functionally to implement creative, scalable solutions that strengthen event delivery.
Skills & Experiences
5‑7 years of event and exhibit operations experience, managing large‑scale, complex programs from concept through execution.
Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate and influence senior‑level executives and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Highly proficient in budget management and data analysis, including advanced spreadsheet and reporting capabilities.
Strategic thinker and proactive problem‑solver, able to make quick, informed decisions while managing on‑the‑ground logistics.
Deep commitment to quality and customer experience, ensuring excellence in every aspect of event delivery.
Self‑motivated and adaptable, thriving in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with competing priorities.
Passionate about the retail and e‑commerce industries, with curiosity for emerging trends and innovations.
Proficiency with Monday.com; GES Registration platform experience is a plus.
Hybrid work flexibility, with availability to be in the office up to three days per week.
