Engineering Leader
The Engineering Leader plays a critical role in a fast-growing startup environment, guiding the technology organization, shaping long-term technical strategy, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions for the their Platform. This role requires a hands-on, innovative leader with deep engineering expertise and strong experience in AI/ML, data engineering, and SaaS platform development. The Engineering Leader partners closely with product, design, and cross-functional teams to drive rapid innovation, build foundational processes, and help scale the platform and team as the company grows. This leader will also oversee and manage a distributed engineering team, including direct reports located outside of the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Strategy & Vision Define and communicate a forward-looking technical strategy aligned with company goals. Integrate advancements in AI/ML, scalable data pipelines, and modern SaaS practices to enhance platform capabilities and maintain competitive advantage.
AI & Machine Learning Leadership Lead the development, training, and fine-tuning of AI/ML models, supporting the launch and evolution of white-labeled LML solutions. Partner with product and data teams to identify meaningful AI opportunities and ensure responsible and effective model deployment.
Data Engineering & Pipelines Oversee the creation, optimization, and reliability of data pipelines that power machine learning, analytics, and intelligent product features. Ensure data systems are scalable, secure, and built for rapid experimentation and iteration.
Leadership & Global Team Development Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, geographically distributed engineering team. Manage direct reports located internationally and foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that promotes alignment, accountability, and technical excellence across borders.
SaaS Platform Development Lead engineering for a multi-tenant SaaS platform, ensuring exceptional performance, security, scalability, and customer experience. Drive architectural decisions that support rapid iteration and long-term product evolution.
Product Development & Delivery Oversee the complete software development lifecycle to consistently deliver features and enhancements on time and at high quality. Champion agile methodologies and CI/CD practices that improve reliability and development velocity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Operations, Design, and GTM teams to align on priorities, requirements, and workstreams. Maintain transparent communication to ensure smooth execution and strong cross-functional outcomes.
Operational Excellence & Reliability Define and track engineering KPIs across uptime, performance, customer satisfaction, and delivery efficiency. Lead continuous improvements in observability, security, and platform stability.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement Cultivate a culture that encourages experimentation, emerging technology adoption, and continuous improvement across engineering practicesespecially in AI and data-driven capabilities.
Architecture & System Design Guide architectural direction to ensure platform scalability, maintainability, and alignment with long-term business and AI/ML integration goals.
Resource & Budget Management Manage budgets, tooling, infrastructure investments, and global headcount planning. Make data-driven decisions to optimize resources and maximize ROI.
Risk Management & Compliance Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and data-related risks. Ensure engineering practices adhere to industry standards for compliance, privacy, security, and responsible AI use.
Executive Communication & Reporting Provide clear, consistent updates to the executive team on engineering performance, initiatives, and strategy. Represent engineering in leadership discussions and influence company-wide decision-making.
