System Engineer (On-Site | Johns Creek, GA)
Position Summary
Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Systems Engineer provides hands-on administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise data center and infrastructure technologies. This role requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure, virtualization, backup solutions, and cloud services in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Administration & Support:
Administer and support VMware vSphere virtualization environment
Manage Microsoft Windows Server environments (2012 R2, 2016, 2019)
Maintain and troubleshooting Active Directory services include:
Group Policy Objects (GPO)
DHCP and DNS
Network Policy Server (NPS)
Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
Azure AD Connect integration
Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Tools:
Support Office 365, Exchange Server (2016, 2019), and Exchange Online
Administer SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive
Manage email systems and collaboration platform configurations
Systems Management & Deployment:
Utilize Tanium for endpoint management and patch deployment
Optimize server hardware and software while ensuring minimal downtime
Monitor system performance, configuration, and capacity management
Data Protection & Storage:
Support backup solutions including Veeam, Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), and Zerto
Manage enterprise storage platforms (HPE Nimble, Dell-EMC, NetApp)
Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
Operations & Project Work:
Monitor and troubleshoot critical data center systems and equipment
Participating in infrastructure upgrade and migration projects
Respond to incidents with appropriate urgency and documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special assignments
Required Qualifications: Bachelors or associate degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field

equivalent combination of education and significant relevant work experience Directory Services : Proven experience with Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, WINS, GPO, SAML, ADFS, and multi-factor authentication Virtualization : Hands-on experience managing large-scale VMware environments Cloud Services : Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure AD Enterprise Infrastructure : Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure projects in data center operations Operating Systems : Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server platforms Multi-Vendor Solutions : Ability to work with diverse hardware and software vendors
