Job Description

  • Lead accounting and reporting activities for multiple high-visibility entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee consolidations and financial reporting for monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
  • Conduct advanced research and analysis to advise senior management on financial performance and critical accounting issues.
  • Serve as a key advisor to business leaders; present findings and recommendations to senior management, regulators, and boards.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage complex general ledger transactions, maintain control environment, and liaise with auditors and SOX teams.
  • Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and workflow automation initiatives.
  • Review and approve new process documentation and training materials.
  • Offer statutory and regulatory guidance for special projects and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Design and implement new or revised reporting and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate emerging risks, develop recommendations, and work with leadership to implement solutions.
  • Translate technical accounting concepts for non-technical audiences, including boards and regulators.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Director of Accounting should have:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry, particularly within Banking & Financial Services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
