This position is an on-site position in Mt Airy, NC

Responsibilities

Prepare, process, and approve purchase orders for inventoried items with unlimited expense amounts

Resolve production shortages

Communicate and coordinate business unit’s requirements to customers and suppliers, including needs, deadlines, impact to schedule, and available alternatives

Include internal and external customers/suppliers

Commit to expediting, prioritizing, and planning for the business unit's needs

Identify and resolve errors

Perform department specific quoting

Manage invoices, including resolution of discrepancies in pricing and receiving transactions

Own materials team projects to continuously improve toward team goals

Support Kaizen events

Support the greater materials team as needed

All other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Other Position Specifications

Authority to approve and process purchase orders with unlimited inventory items, with limited oversight from supervision

Some travel (up to 25%) may be required

Specific assignments may have additional travel requirements

Must be customer service oriented

Must maintain company confidentiality

Should be able to handle stress and deadlines

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Basic Qualifications Education, experience, and skills required:

High School diploma or equivalent required

4‑year Degree preferred, or

High School Diploma or equivalent required AND

Experience required:

Internal: 6 years applicable experience with at least 2 years with Altec, Supply Chain Functions preferred

External: 6 years applicable experience, Supply Chain Functions preferred

Applicable Masters or APICS Certification counts as one year of experience, not to exceed one year in total

Microsoft Office suite experience required

Knowledge of supply chain principles and concepts required

ERP system experience preferred
