Supplier Quality Assistant Manager

As our team continue to expand, Motherson Yachiyo AY Manufacturing Ltd., a Tier 1 assembler of Sunroofs for the automotive industry, is searching for a Supplier Quality Assistant Manager at our Westside Columbus Ohio facility. This role will provide leadership and direction for the Quality Assurance to suppliers from new model development through market establishment to service. Support quality systems development/improvements to meet customers’ requirements. Ensure establishment and adherence to Yachiyo Supplier Quality Manual. Ensure suppliers’ process capability and part conformance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize, lead, and direct all assigned personnel.
Manage Supplier part and process development for New Model and change point control (e.g. IPP)
Establish, maintain, and enforce Yachiyo Supplier Quality Manual.
Plant lead of supplier tooling management.
Ensure non-conforming parts are not received from supplier.
Root cause analysis of non-conforming products or analysis of other product concerns.
Investigation of process controls- knowledge of PQCT and PFMEA.
Develop and maintain quality documentation: update quality standards, PQCT, PFMEA as necessary.
Work with suppliers to analyze their processes and systems to develop deep root cause improvement plans.
Analyze supplier performance and new technologies to develop long-term plans for supplier improvement.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (build solid working relationships with suppliers and internal departments).
Ability to read and interpret part/product drawings and specifications, statistical, and analytical data.
Ability to multi-task and effectively solve problems. Quick response to critical line issues and immediate interaction with the suppliers
Support the containment of non-conforming products: initiate and manage supplier sorts and confirm in-house products.
Analyze and approve: SCR responses and change points initiated by suppliers.
Knowledge of Statistical process controls. Ability to: determine process capability, interpret trend data and make effective decisions.
Maintenance and Reporting from GSQA including supplier scorecard and response approval.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/ISE/Quality with proven 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Tier 1 automotive
Proven problem solving, decision making, situation analysis, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Ability to read technical drawings, specifications with hands on PPAP and APQP experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Excellent documentation, hands‑on mentality and leadership skills
Must be able to travel, international and domestic, occasionally with minimal notice
