We’re seeking an experienced
Tool & Die Assistant Manager
to support a major automotive manufacturing site in Springfield, OH. This leader will oversee Tool Room operations, guide 30 Toolmakers across all shifts, and drive proactive solutions that prevent future tooling issues. Ideal for a hands‑on leader skilled in die repair, problem‑solving, and team development.
What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor the Assistant Tool & Die Manager and Office Coordinator
Oversee tool repairs, ownership, and follow‑up once tools return to press
Support troubleshooting for complex dies and shop‑floor challenges
Maintain 1.5–2 hours overlap with 2nd shift for communication and coordination
Prepare KPIs, A3s, training plans, budgets, and investment proposals
Drive safety, quality, and productivity expectations
Support staffing, development, and evaluation of team members
What You Need
10+ years
in Tool & Die leadership or similar environment
Strong technical knowledge of tooling, repair processes, and die operations
Proven leadership, problem‑solving, and follow‑up discipline
Ability to read technical documents and present reports
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD a plus
Flexibility to support off‑shifts or weekends during rare emergencies
