Coordinate activities of workers engaged in herding and caring cows. Responsible for the transportation of cattle from one area to another. Perform and maintain records of cattle inventory and location. Identify and perform minor treatments of sick animals, maintain records of treatments and animals sold, and maintain inventory of medicines and supplies needed.

closed loop
system of sustainable farming, which is made possible by our decision to bring together crop farming and dairy production. These are highly complementary pursuits – particularly when it comes to recycling waste. We put organic waste back into the soil, which not only minimizes the amount of waste we produce but also helps keep our crops healthy. With more than 39,500 acres of irrigated farmland, we understand that our commitment to responsible farming is important to us as well as our community.
We operate in this way because of our values and commitment to the environment, our animals, and our community. Since our founding in 1998, TCF has routinely gone beyond regulatory environmental requirements and exceeded established standards – because we know it is oftentimes a better expression of our values. In April 2020, the farm was named one of three dairies nationwide – and the only one on the West Coast – to receive the Innovation Center for US Dairy’s award for Outstanding Dairy Sustainability. TCF was also the first dairy to earn a 100% score on the Validus independent animal welfare audit for the care standards we apply to our 35,000 dairy cows.
Responsibilities
Count cattle for inventory. Maintain records of deceased, sold and moved cows. Process cattle for sale.
Keep and maintain accurate records of all daily activities of maternity, fresh cow and hospital, and provide reports to daily office for computer entry.
Observe animals to detect signs of injury and illness. Provide treatments for minor injuries ailments. Consult with Manager and Veterinarian for treatment of serious injuries and illness.
Assist with administrating vaccinations and treatment as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.
