General Purpose of Job The Inventory Specialist will support the logistics and plant leaders related to material availability and inventory accuracy. The associate ensures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review. Conducts physical inventories and leads cycle counts. Analyzes and, when able, corrects cycle count discrepancies. Compiles and documents data on slow moving/obsolete/end of life materials and processing ECN’s changes. Helps aid in correcting issues with closing of work orders and communication when needed between production team, inventory control team and buyers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains and updates records in ERP
Perform physical inventories and cycle counts of materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock
Investigates, recommends corrections, provides information, and carries out any necessary adjustments
Reports discrepancies between physical counts and computer records
Maintains and keeps customer orders, back orders, and received materials with a high level of accuracy and updates as directed
Implement ECN’s and other production issues as directed
Work to achieve annual inventory reduction and customer service performance targets
Assist Materials Manager with product life cycle planning product introductions, phase‑in/out, and inventory planning
Evaluate excess and slow‑moving inventory, developing solutions to improve performance
Delegate duties, when necessary; lead team meetings and report to Materials Manager as assigned
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodations

Proficient in SAP, MS office
Is high‑energy, resilient, self‑motivated team player with the ability to multi‑task
Is experienced with material flow through a manufacturing facility
Is willing to flex working hours to cover customer needs during week and through weekends
Is able to drive and maintain 5S guidelines throughout inventory areas
Meets productivity standards; completes work in timely manner
Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma, or GED equivalent required; associate’s degree in business preferred
5+ years related experience in a technically oriented position, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with Inventory Control/Warehouse Management Software preferred
2+ years of related experience with cycle counting program administration preferred
2+ years of related experience in inventory control preferredBasic mathematic functions required
