Summary of Job The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the organization. This role monitors stock levels, performs regular inventory audits, investigates discrepancies, and collaborates with operations, purchasing, and production teams to support uninterrupted business operations. The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in minimizing inventory shortages, excess stock, and operational delays while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy.
Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories.
Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis.
Track incoming and outgoing inventory.
Collect and store incoming material in defined locations.
Maintain count accuracy (digital and physical counting).
Update the database with incoming and outgoing products.
Dispose of obsolete inventory as directed.
Provide inventory items such as parts to the production lines.
Utilize Forklifts to safely store and retrieve overstock material in racking.
Manage annual Physical Inventory from planning to training employees on correct procedures to ensure best results.
Assist Quality Control, Engineering, and Procurement with "Blocked Stock" and Non-compliant parts control.
Maintain accurate records of parts locations and quantities.
Adhere to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Candidate should be a self-starter - able to assess and determine the best way to complete the given tasks. Recording best practices and communicating to the team on continuous improvement.
Ability to take coaching well and communicate respectfully with others to ensure a positive teamwork culture.
Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

Exposure to moving equipment.
Inside work.
Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Humidity may exceed 80%.
Noise may exceed 85dB+.
Physical Characteristics
Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.
Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs).
Frequent sitting, rotating up to 100%.
Frequent typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice-assisted as needed.
Position Type
Full time.
40 hours per week (M-F, 8 hours per day) Weekend availability required based on business demand.
Must have the ability to work at both Marysville and Port Huron facilities on a daily basis, if necessary.
Available upon business demand.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Some college preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience operating a Forklift.
Minimum 3 years in inventory role, manufacturing preferred.
