Our hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton offer both NHS and private patients, inpatient and outpatient care for solid tumours and Haemato-Oncology cancers, including transplants, chemotherapy and clinical trials.
We have optimised our Band 6 clinical pharmacist programme to focus on patient facing clinical aspects of pharmacy care. This exciting opportunity is to join a team of specialist pharmacists concentrating on providing the best possible ward based pharmaceutical care.

Main duties of the job To join our clinical services pharmacy team at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust liaising closely with other pharmacy team members and Hospital staff.

a) To provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, contributing to the multidisciplinary team for clinical units as required, through ward pharmacy services. b) Promote optimal and appropriate drug use and high quality prescribing practice within the Trust. c) To attend all relevant events such as Registrar/Consultant rounds/unit meetings as appropriate. d) To respond appropriately to requests from medical and nursing staff for information and advice about the selection and use of drug therapy. e) Actively participate in audit, drug use reviews and pharmacoeconomic project work. f) Participate in any pharmacy initiatives or working groups as appropriate. g) To support the Pharmacy Clinical Services Manager with the Clinical Governance and Risk Management Strategy within the department and throughout the Trust g) Participate in pharmacy initiatives within the units as appropriate h) Strive for continuous quality improvement through identifying research questions; developing and contributing to research to further the medicines optimisation agenda in cancer

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
