Revenue Cycle Specialist I – Professional Billing and Collections Location: Yuma, AZ 85364

Position Type: Full-Time – Regular 80 hrs biweekly

Pay Rate Type: Hourly – $17.67 – $25.98 per hour

Job Summary: The Revenue Cycle Specialist I performs billing and collection activities for inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and professional services at Onvida Health.

Responsibilities

Process third‑party insurance billing and collections.

Conduct payer denial review and appeals processing.

Apply payment applications and resolve payment discrepancies.

Review credit balances and pursue resolution.

Handle self‑pay billing, financial assistance, and collection agency assignment.

Perform patient and insurer outreach to collect owed amounts.

Prepare appeal letters with supporting documentation for claim denials.

Post insurance and patient payments, including daily lockbox, credit card, and check reconciliations.

Prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and maintain required productivity.

Provide exemplary customer service and uphold Onvida Health core values.

Mentor and train team members and contribute to process improvement.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

(Minimum)

Background in hospital and/or professional accounts receivable.

Knowledge of reimbursement requirements of healthcare payers.

Familiarity with UB04, CMS 1500, CPT, ICD‑10, HCPCS, and modifiers.

Experience with Epic EHR, self‑pay or insurance billing and collections.

Strong communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills.
