CYNET SYSTEMS is hiring: Senior Phlebotomist in Liverpool

Responsibilities:

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, record maintenance data, conduct decontamination, and update patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly and courteously explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes such as urine or fecal collection.
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand and follow physicians orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required based on test orders.
• Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against orders to ensure complete accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples at required temperatures, place samples in appropriate containers or tubes, label accurately, and follow protocol-specific procedures to maintain specimen integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results as needed.

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment (where required).
• Minimum 6 months of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 4 years of experience.

• Phlebotomy experience; 1.5 years preferred, including PSC experience.
• Experience performing phlebotomy on all types of patients.
• Ability to handle hard sticks, needle procedures, urine collection, and thyroid testing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Computer skills.
• Data entry and processing.
• Proficiency with hard sticks.
