We are seeking a detail‑oriented
Experienced Senior Tax Associate
to join our team in our
Chicago, IL
office. You will provide services to predominantly U.S.‑bound international businesses (primarily German/European) in the manufacturing and distribution industry. What you will do:
Review (80%) and Preparation (20%) Federal and state corporate and partnership tax returns
Assist with the preparation and review of income tax provisions for corporate taxpayers under ASC 740
Act as a point of contact for clients, answering ad‑hoc tax‑related inquiries, handling notices, and addressing client requests
Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of work while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal, state, and international tax topics
Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations; performance in‑depth tax search, deliver timely and high‑quality services that exceed client expectations
Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates and interns
What you need to bring:
Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in federal and state income tax, including experience in public accounting
BA/BS degree in Accounting or Masters degree in Accounting/Taxation
Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry
CCH Axcess tax experience
Excellent research, writing and communication skills in English
Process‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task
Demonstrate responsibility, take ownership of tasks, and collaborate effectively as a team player
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong corporate tax compliance and tax provision experience
CPA license or similar certification
