Job Summary Supermicro is looking for a passionate senior network validation engineer in our San Jose office to join our Ethernet switching product management team. You will work in depth with network switching configuration and deployment, supporting both internal and external customers, and enable customers to understand the power of our Ethernet switching product line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Help with short turnaround setups with the latest AI and storage server products
Document deep hands‑on steps and lessons learned in best‑practice set‑ups between the switch product line and those elements connecting
Work with engineering in identifying product gaps based on competitive analysis and drive enhancements
Act as the domain authority on Supermicro products to support Field Applications Engineers
Document technical concepts to ensure product understanding
Set up and maintain a general‑purpose networking lab including test harness, competitive products, automation environment
Qualifications
12+ years of deep hands‑on network switching knowledge in IT infrastructure (Ethernet, NICs, accelerators/GPUs, HPC, cloud, virtualization/containerization, etc.)
Experience with Linux and enterprise operating systems, APIs, and web applications development/product management
Strong technical background; technical degree preferred (e.g., BSEE, BSCS)
Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP or CCDP, Arista ACE, Juniper JNCIx, or others are highly desirable
Excellent teamwork and verbal communication skills
Eagerness to learn new technologies, experiment with products, and collaborate cross‑functionally
Strong customer advocacy skills and experience working in difficult customer situations
Strong initiative, sense of ownership, and ability to get things done
Salary Range $140,000 - $180,000 (dependent on location, level, education, experience)
