WASTEWATER ELECTRICAL CONTROL SPECIALIST

Future Salary Increases June 2026 – 5.34% increase to base pay (3% Across‑the‑Board + 2.34% Market Adjustment)
June 2027 – 5.24% increase to base pay (2.90% Across‑the‑Board + 2.34% Market Adjustment)
Responsibilities The employee will oversee and maintain electrical and electronic systems and equipment at County wastewater and water facilities, and provide technical guidance, advice, and training to staff on electrical and instrumentation devices.
Minimum Qualifications Four (4) years of experience as a journey‑level electrician, including responsibility for the planning, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical control and instrumentation systems.
Hiring Timelines & Dates
Job offer and background process begins after interviews. Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
Pre‑employment medical screening: approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
Anticipated start date: based on successful completion of medical screening or mutually agreed upon date.
If not selected, candidates may compete for future vacancies.
Working Conditions Required to work at wastewater and water facilities, on high trucks, poles, and ceilings. May be exposed to heat, cramped workspaces, adverse weather, noxious fumes, explosive gases, high electrical voltage and currents, dust, heights, and loud machine noises. Subject to emergency work on a 24‑hour, call‑back basis.
Condition of Employment Prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre‑employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional background investigations may be conducted based on the job‑related activities. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.
Evaluation Qualified applicants will be placed on a six‑month eligible list based on scores from their application. Complete and accurate information is required for automated evaluation and subsequent individual review.
