Senior Automation / Compliance Engineer

Position Overview The Senior Automation/Compliance Engineer is a technical leadership role responsible for developing and implementing automated compliance systems, streamlining regulatory workflows, and ensuring nuclear construction projects meet all regulatory requirements through digital tools and AI‑powered verification. This position combines expertise in automation engineering, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance to transform compliance from a reactive, manual process into a proactive, data‑driven discipline integrated into Nuclear OS. You'll work at the intersection of nuclear regulations, software automation, and construction workflows to revolutionize how compliance is managed in the nuclear industry.

Key Responsibilities Automated Compliance System Development

Design and implement

automated ITAAC (Inspections, Tests, Analyses, and Acceptance Criteria) tracking and documentation systems

Build

systems that auto‑generate compliance documentation and evidence as construction activities progress

Develop

AI‑powered compliance verification systems that identify risks before audits

Create

smart contract‑based approval workflows for instant ITAAC milestone verification

Implement

automated compliance dashboards for real‑time regulatory oversight

Build

systems that transform compliance from a burden into a natural byproduct of structured digital work processes

Regulatory Workflow Automation

Automate

completion of compliance documentation, tracking, and submissions

Develop

systems that embed compliance into digital workflows rather than treating it as a separate parallel process

Create

auto‑populated forms and templates to reduce time preparing regulatory filings by 80%

Build

live compliance dashboards showing real‑time status (e.g., "10 out of 364 ITAAC still pending")

Implement

automated rule‑checking that continuously scans design docs, procurement records, and QA tests for compliance

Develop

systems for environmental and safety reporting automation

Compliance Engineering & Technical Review

Serve as technical reviewer and approver

for engineering documents, design changes, and procurement specifications to ensure regulatory compliance

Review

work orders, engineering documents, and procurement specifications to verify compliance with NRC regulations

Ensure

all construction activities meet 10 CFR Part 50, 10 CFR Part 52, and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B requirements

Verify

compliance with ASME NQA‑1 quality assurance standards

Conduct

compliance assessments and gap analyses

Support

NRC inspections and respond to regulatory inquiries

Quality Assurance & Inspection Automation

Develop

automated inspection and testing verification systems

Implement

digital quality control processes that replace manual spreadsheets and paper forms

Build

systems for tracking quality assurance activities and inspection results

Create

automated quality verification and inspection techniques

Implement

construction quality inspection and decision‑aid systems

Develop

acceptance criteria verification and automated testing protocols

Champion adoption

of digital engineering and compliance management tools within Nuclear OS

Integrate

ITAAC requirements directly into project execution plans within Nuclear OS

Build

interfaces between compliance systems and construction management workflows

Develop

APIs for compliance data exchange with regulatory agencies

Create

training modules for regulatory and compliance officers on automated workflows

Ensure

full traceability for every regulatory requirement through digital systems

AI & Machine Learning for Compliance

Develop

AI models that verify compliance requirements are met

Implement

machine learning systems that learn from historical compliance data

Build

natural language processing tools to parse regulatory requirements

Create

predictive models that identify potential compliance issues before they occur

Design

AI‑powered systems that generate compliance packages automatically

Develop

Required Qualifications Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (Master's preferred)

7+ years

of experience in compliance engineering, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs in nuclear or highly regulated industries

3+ years ’ experience with automation, software development, or digital systems

Experience in nuclear construction or operations strongly preferred

Compliance & Regulatory Expertise

Strong knowledge

of NRC regulations including 10 CFR Part 50, 10 CFR Part 52, and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B

Deep understanding

of ITAAC processes, development, and closure requirements

Proficiency

in ASME NQA‑1 quality assurance standards

Experience

with nuclear licensing and regulatory submittals

Knowledge

of inspection and testing requirements for nuclear facilities

Understanding

of quality control and quality assurance principles

Technical & Automation Skills

Strong programming skills

in Python, Java, or similar languages

Experience

with workflow automation tools and business process management systems

Knowledge

of database systems and data management

Proficiency

in API development and system integration

Understanding

of AI/ML concepts and applications

Familiarity

with digital engineering tools and compliance management systems

Experience

Estimated Starting Salary Range

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi‑weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
