NYS OSC Lead Data Warehouse Developer (Position A)
Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid – up to 50% remote)
Employment type: Full time, 60‑month contract.
Role overview: This role will transition the Data Analytics Initiative from a project‑based approach to an ongoing, operational, fully supported function, enhancing the organization’s ability to gather, process, and analyze data from internal and external sources to detect fraud, waste, and abuse in state spending.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the build‑out of the current OSC environment for data analytics infrastructure and supporting technologies, including data warehousing, business intelligence, statistical analysis, and data exchanges with external agencies/entities.
Implement data analytics architecture design to accept structured and unstructured datasets as they are acquired through the Data Analytics unit.
Assist with the implementation and migration of ETL environments, including fact and dimensional models as defined through user story business requirements.
Assist in Tableau/Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) dashboard design as defined by user story business requirements.
Develop ETL processes for newly identified/acquired data into OSC’s secure data analytics environment.
Provide other data analytics development services as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum six months availability from the anticipated commencement of work.
At least five years of experience troubleshooting complex technical problems involving networking, database, application, and associated servers.
At least three years of experience modeling data for reporting and analytics.
At least five years of experience tuning SQL for performance.
At least three years of experience providing technical guidance to a team of software developers on performance tuning in enterprise data warehouse reporting and analytics systems.
At least five years of experience performing Oracle database development using SQL and PL/SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional years of experience beyond the minimum for qualifications A2, A3, and A6.
Wage Hourly rate: $70.00 – $75.00.
