What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based backend services and RESTful APIs for FHIR/SMART on FHIR applications
Implement FHIR resource models, data mappings, and transformations for EMR/EHR and clinical registry integrations
Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, and clinical teams to convert healthcare requirements into scalable backend solutions
Ensure interoperability with EMR/EHR systems using SMART on FHIR standards
Participate in various testing phases including unit testing, API validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
What is Required (Qualifications)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java backend development, particularly in building RESTful APIs
Strong hands‑on experience with FHIR and SMART on FHIR standards
Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Allscripts, along with interoperability workflows
Proficiency in testing practices including unit testing, API testing, integration testing, and UAT support
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices such as CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms
Strong understanding of security and privacy standards in healthcare (HIPAA, PHIPA, GDPR)
Ability to produce clear technical documentation for APIs and architecture
