Pay: $125,133 – $162,672 per year (Based on skills and experience)

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Enterprise Architecture and Data Group (EADG). As an IT Specialist (SYSANALYS) referred to here as a Full Stack Engineer, you will serve as the principal technical authority and strategic advisor for full-stack application development, enterprise integration, and CMS IT modernization initiatives.
What you'll do
Provide strategic technical leadership and executive guidance to Federal staff and contractors across the Enterprise Architecture and Data Group (EADG).
Oversee the design, development, integration, and modernization of enterprise-grade, secure full-stack applications.
Develop agency-wide standards for enterprise software frameworks, languages, and tools to ensure long-term sustainability, interoperability, and security.
Establish CMS-wide coding standards, design patterns, and secure software development practices.
Qualifications
Directing and overseeing the design, development, integration, and modernization of secure full-stack applications.
Ensuring full-stack applications are integrated with enterprise data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks as well as with cloud-native, microservices-based architectures using open-source frameworks (React, Angular, Spring Boot, Node.js, Kubernetes).
Leading the analysis and evaluation of proposed or modified policies and regulations to assess their potential impact on enterprise software development programs.
Providing guidance and leadership in recommending and developing IT modernization strategies and technology adoption decisions.
Maintaining clear and consistent communication with leadership on project status, technical issues, resolutions, options, risks, and recommendations.
