As a
Satellite Systems Engineer
supporting our client’s Space Force Golden Dome program, you will join a cross-functional team developing advanced missile tracking and defense systems. This role will allow you to apply your expertise in space/ground systems architecture, MBSE, and flight dynamics to critical national security initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Lead requirements analysis, decomposition, and development of physical, functional, and logical architectures
Define and manage system-level Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) to drive mission effectiveness, segment budgets, and system tradeoffs
Perform architecture decomposition, interface definition, and ICD development and coordination
Support space mission design and architecture across sensing, communication, payload management, and mission data processing
Drive system design changes, system threads, and CONOPs development
Perform flight dynamics management including collision avoidance, station keeping, orbit insertion, de-orbit, and LEOPs support
Apply orbit determination methods and space-to-ground contact planning
Coordinate design efforts across multiple customers and teams to achieve a common solution
Collaborate on space constellation systems and mission operations planning
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field
8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s degree plus 6 years)
U.S. citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance
Experience in requirements management, MBSE, and Agile development
Familiarity with space/ground architecture, flight dynamics, and satellite TT&C systems
Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-company and customer engagement
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise with MagicDraw and MBSE modeling tools
Familiarity with enterprise interfaces (gRPC, Kafka, REST, SNMP) and cloud architectures
Knowledge of CCSDS protocol and IP networking for space systems
OpenC3, Freeflyer, or Meridian experience
Experience in RF and optical space communications
Operational knowledge of space constellation systems and automated workflows
Prior MDA program experience
Constellation design and anomaly support experience
