Accountant Role Serving Large Not-for-Profits.
As a Senior Accountant in our fund accounting department, you will play a pivotal role in our company, ensuring accurate timely financial reporting for our not-for-profit clients enabling them to report to and engage their Donors. You will manage deadlines and deliverables. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial success of not only our company but the not‑for‑profits that we serve utilizing your expertise in accounting, finance, and business development.
Role
Performing daily and monthly valuations of our clients holdings including mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity holdings.
Performing daily & monthly investment and bank account reconciliation to custodian reports
P&L allocations
Preparing fund transfers between cash & investment accounts & trade files as needed.
Performing month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing procedures, including reconciliations and rebalancing.
Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support our Clients needs
Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
Supporting external audits and ensuring timely resolution of audit inquiries
Assisting in the development and enhancement of financial reporting systems and tools
Participating in special projects and initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
CPA
Proven work experience, minimum 5 years, in an accounting role with a Fund Administrator, Hedge Fund or similar institution.
Public accounting or combination of public accounting and industry experience
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
