Overview The VP will support operational risk management activities in accordance with OCC Heightened Standard, using guidelines such as COSO. Responsibilities include administering and managing Operational Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and control testing. The role participates in designing, supervising, and implementing an RCSA program to identify, assess, monitor, and report risk assessments performed by the Bank’s First Line Units (FLUs).
Responsibilities
Support bank‑wide coordination of the RCSA process in close collaboration with FLUs to ensure consistency with sound risk‑management standards and internal policy and procedures.
Execute operational risk management activities: risk and controls assessment, process library management, risk and controls taxonomy, controls testing, issues management, and risk analytics.
Maintain all associated process documentation, risk taxonomies, policies and procedures.
Execute testing programs and quality‑assure all associated documentation.
Ensure the effective implementation of the Branch’s operational risk programs through training, awareness and monitoring.
Promote a sound operational risk culture across the Branch by supporting and providing oversight to the first line of defense through various operational risk management programs.
Review and challenge risk assessments conducted by both FLUs and IRM.
Ensure a timely and efficient remediation plan is developed for operational risk management framework issues, and oversee the implementation of rectification.
Support all ad‑hoc tasks as they arise.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum 10 years of work experience in banking, with at least 10 years of experience in operational risk management and at least 5 years related to RCSA or other risk and controls for the VP level; minimum 5 years of banking experience, with at least 5 years in operational risk management is required for the AVP level.
Solid analytical and computer skills (Microsoft Office, including Access and Visio) are required.
Familiarity with the regulatory environment, processes, activities, and requirements of a foreign banking organization, and knowledge of operational or enterprise risk management concepts, frameworks, methods, and governance practices.
Deep understanding of RCSA or Enterprise Risk Management risk assessment and control testing programs is required.
CFA, CPA, FRM, or other risk‑management related certifications are preferred, but not required.
Pay Range Actual salary is commensurate with candidate’s relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.
USD $65,000.00 - USD $230,000.00 /Yr.
