Director of Learning Science – 2 Hour Learning (Remote) – $400,000/year USD
Role Overview
You have crafted a clear academic vision and taken full ownership of results. In learning science you have built proven systems, generated outcomes that validate the approach, and earned credibility to present that work publicly. At 2 Hour Learning, we have developed a model that enables students to learn at twice the pace in only two hours a day. AI‑driven tutoring, mastery‑oriented progression, and a complete redesign of traditional classroom frameworks produce exceptional performance. We need a leader who can align execution across varied school implementations, elevate academic leadership standards, and serve as the public voice of a movement rooted in evidence‑based learning science.
Base Pay Range $200.00/hr – $200.00/hr
What You Will Be Doing
Develop academic frameworks that translate learning science into actionable direction for curriculum design, motivational systems, and application architecture.
Conduct academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and achieve targeted results.
Integrate data, interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
Ensure strategic alignment via planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone oversight to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
Serve as the public representative of 2 Hour Learning at senior forums, delivering keynote presentations and engaging with Ministries of Education to influence systemic shifts in global education thinking.
What You Won’t Be Doing
Engage in narrow curriculum initiatives that fail to produce systemic impact.
Produce theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution.
Transfer accountability for performance to middle management or external consultants.
Depend on institutional reputation or conceptual arguments to convince critical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning’s validated academic model by aligning execution across all schools, raising leadership standards, and establishing yourself as the public advocate of a movement founded on rigorous science and measurable results.
Basic Requirements
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes.
Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning.
Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising.
Strong performance‑management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar.
Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions.
Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders.
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high‑performing EdTech venture.
Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts.
Deep familiarity with Bloom’s 2 Sigma research and other mastery‑learning frameworks.
