Position Summary

Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $61,008 -$62,232.00
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position to work on funded projects that use imaging techniques to investigate the pathophysiology of retinal and choroidal disease. The position is an appointment in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Heiferman.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in imaging and clinical data analysis, computational modeling, and grant preparation. Additionally, there is ample opportunity to gain experience in clinical studies with human subjects. Programming experience and good writing skills are desirable.
The start date is flexible and salary will follow the NIH postdoctoral scale. The initial appointment will be for one year, with continuation based funding availability.
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences has an active group of scientists interested in basic, clinical, and translational research. There are opportunities for interaction through departmental seminars and collaborative research projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications A PhD, MD, or equivalent terminal degree is required. To be eligible, the degree must have been awarded within the past five years.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in image analysis and clinical data analysis, computational modeling, grant preparation, programming, and good writing skills.
