Seasonal Cache Positions - CDA
Position: Seasonal Cache Positions – CDA Staff Office in Idaho Department of Lands.
Tenure: 3 to 8 months, starting as early as April 2026 and ending as late as November 2026, depending on role and state needs.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a recurring basis.
Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods and bend, stoop, and work in tiring or sometimes uncomfortable positions.
May be required to pass a Work Capacity Test for wildland firefighting qualifications.
Fire Cache Positions Perform and assist in assigned daily tasks that revolve around physical labor, data entry, and operating machinery to refurbish wildland firefighting equipment in a team-oriented environment.
Primary Duties
Receiving, shipping, returns, and refurbishment of firefighting equipment.
Washing firefighting supplies, frame tanks, boxing supplies, counting and sorting equipment, and loading/offloading trucks.
Pressure testing water handling equipment and performing other duties as assigned.
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lit.
Cache Driver Role
Driving across multiple state lines, up to 10 hours continuously, with multiple days on the road.
Note: Due to work/rest guidelines, individuals cannot be hired as both a laborer and a driver simultaneously.
Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or later, 6 days a week, with extended periods on your feet.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid driver’s license.

Must be 18 years or older.

Desired Experience
Forklift operation, warehouse environment experience, and driving box trucks up to 26’.
