Senior Substation Engineer

to take on the challenge of designing new power substations and upgrading existing facilities from 12kV to 500kV. You\'ll be responsible for utilizing accepted practices and standards to ensure that all designs meet the highest level of quality and safety. This is an

onsite

supervisory role with direct reports, including engineers and designers. You will be reporting to our

office.

Responsibilities: Develop project plans, including project scope of work and WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for complex multi-discipline-based substation Engineering projects and EPC projects

Manage Substation project execution, including project scope, schedule, budget, and project resources, including external vendors, consultants, and contractors

Effectively track and stabilize projects, implement solutions to obstacles, and ensure client goals are achieved

Attend client meetings and communicate concerns and changes with the client to ensure a positive relationship and growth opportunities

Prepare and review preliminary designs

Prepare proposals, including budgetary estimates

Lead the development of plans, specifications, studies, estimates, material lists, and other deliverables

Ensure team adherence to QA/QC program

Develop new, or modify existing: Electrical layout/plan of substation equipment and structures

Substation foundation layout/plan drawings

Section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings

Conduit layout/plan drawings

Substation grounding layout/plan drawings

Control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings

Lead, mentor, and help grow a team of engineers and designers: Manage day-to-day activities for your team

Set goals and expectations for each team member

Assist in annual performance reviews

Assist in recruiting effort - posting job requisitions and participation in interviews

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

8+ years of direct substation physical and electrical engineering experience

Professional Engineering license in any state and the ability to acquire further licensure in other states

A combination of education and a demonstrated related experience may be considered in lieu of education and experience requirements

Solid comprehension and application of design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD and other 3D applications

Proficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel, which are frequently used to develop project deliverables

Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs

Ability to work in a team environment with others, including, but not limited to, Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and drafters in multi-disciplinary groups

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and work product quality

Salary Range: $120,000-140,000 Benefits: Flexible Work Environment
