Mechanical Superintendent - Fort Worth, TX
Pay: $42.00 - $50.00/hr

Position Summary The Mechanical Superintendent plays a critical leadership role within our mechanical‑focused construction team, overseeing all aspects of installation on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. Responsible for managing field operations, supervising crews, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring quality and code compliance throughout each phase. The ideal candidate will have proven experience across all mechanical work divisions such as plumbing, HVAC, ductwork, millwright, rigging, sheet metal, pipe fitting, fabrication, insulating, and welding. Strong technical knowledge, field coordination, construction sequencing, and excellent communication skills are essential for leading teams, interfacing with project managers and trades, and ensuring seamless execution on the jobsite while enforcing safety and QA/QC activities.
Position Responsibilities
Promote company values and maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions
Supervise and coordinate daily workload operations across multiple active job sites
Conduct daily Job Hazard Briefs and ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA standards, NFPA, and company safety protocols
Interpret construction drawings and specifications to plan, layout, and coordinate installations
Enforce and implement project‑specific QA/QC procedures, including inspections, testing, and documentation
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to align work schedules, resolve conflicts, and maintain workflow
Forecast manpower needs and coordinate crew assignments based on project timelines and resource availability
Perform material take‑off, schedule material deliveries, verify accuracy of received materials, and ensure proper storage and use on site
Identify installation issues early and work with field staff and design teams to develop corrective action plans
Participate in pre‑construction meetings, progress meetings, and safety reviews as required
Track and report daily progress, labor hours, per diem, equipment usage, and jobsite conditions to the project management team
Ensure compliance with all local codes, NFPA, OSHA, and inspection requirements
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite at all times
Provide on‑site training and mentorship for apprentices and junior staff
Handle employee performance concerns in coordination with HR and project management
Facilitate project closeout duties, system commissioning, and customer training
Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements, tool upgrades, or efficiency improvements
Able to operate and/or train employees in the use of heavy equipment including forklifts, telehandlers, and aerial lifts
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of solid hands‑on experience as a Field Superintendent
Knowledge of state and local Building Codes
Average proficiency in current technologies
OSHA 30 minimum certification
Any combination of licenses or certifications in trade work, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, rigging, millwright, and fabrication
Knowledge of Project Management Software: PlanGrid, Procore, MS Project, MS Office, Smartsheet
Must have own hand tools
Valid REAL ID driver’s license or willingness to obtain Real ID
Willing to travel; 100%
