Position Overview
This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reports by executing various accounting duties. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of standard accounting principles and practices and demonstrate good judgment with some guidance. The position requires following established procedures while allowing for independent thinking and problem-solving to meet departmental objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Closing:
Verify tenant adjustments, ensure timely bank deposits and rent reconciliations, and coordinate with property management to resolve issues impacting financial reporting.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review and distribution to stakeholders. Assist with annual year-end package and audit coordination.
General Ledger Reconciliation:
Analyze monthly financials, reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers, record bank charges and trustee activities, and prepare journal entries.
Cash Management:
Monitor cash positions, approve vendor payments, initiate requisitions for debt service and fees, manage capital reserve draws, and prepare budget reports.
Additional Duties:
Conduct intercompany reconciliations, prepare financial statements, post receivables and disbursements, and support special projects as assigned.
