This role is located in Washington, DC (Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, JBAB) and will also collocate with the Pentagon, Arlington, VA, and Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.
Space Systems Integration LLC (SSI) seeks an Advanced Aircraft Technologies Subject Matter Expert (SETA) for the U.S. Air Force. The position will provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) and Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) on‑site to achieve cost‑effective, critical capabilities that support the war‑fighting mission.
Pay Base pay range: $180,000 – $230,000 per year. Actual pay will depend on skills and experience.
Role and Responsibilities
Provide dedicated support to a Program Element Monitor within the Secretary of the Air Force, Special Programs (SAF/AQL) advanced aircraft and survivability portfolio.
Contribute, collaborate, and present high‑visibility, mission‑critical aspects across multiple programs.
Execute technology analysis for associated or one‑of‑a‑kind systems, covering acquisition, life‑cycle management, planning, programming, budgeting, program execution, and security policy.
Recommend advanced aircraft design and mission decisions to Director/GO/SES level, addressing survivability, warfighter capability, DoD acquisition, and security policies.
Collaborate with diverse organizations and agencies, innovate solutions, and leverage cooperative agreements for cross‑cutting challenges.
Provide acquisition oversight and support portfolio‑management activities, including working groups and integrated product teams.
Interface securely with other DoD services, Congress, industry, and external offices.
Engage in cross‑functional knowledge management and technical writing best practices, building team expertise.
Required Qualifications
20+ years of relevant DoD experience, including aircraft development or operations, survivability programs, research, and acquisition.
Bachelor’s degree in a science, mathematics, engineering, or related technical field.
Master’s degree (MS/ME) desired.
Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) certification in Program Management, Engineering, IT, or Test & Execution; Advanced or Level 3 preferred.
Minimum five years total experience, with at least one year within the last five years in a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or SCI environment.
DoD 5000.02 acquisition experience on ACAT I/II programs for research, development, test, evaluation, production, modernization, or lifecycle acquisition; international acquisition and/or foreign disclosure experience is a plus.
Intrinsically motivated team player committed to learning and maintaining technical relevancy.
MAJCOM level or higher staff experience.
Strong verbal and technical writing communication skills.
TS/SCI clearance with previous SAP experience required.
