Senior FOIA Paralegal
CGS is seeking a Senior FOIA Paralegal to join our team supporting the legal mission of a large federal agency. This position involves performing legal review and FOIA request processing, among other litigation support tasks.

Pay Range $65,357.76 - $94,405.65 per year (CGS Federal provided)
Responsibilities and Skills
Conduct document searches and analyze result sets to separate non-responsive documents from responsive documents and screen responsive documents for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
Redact and code responsive documents.
Perform legal research.
Draft legal documents.
Qualifications
Paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
At least one year of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience is very helpful.
Experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, and/or other eDiscovery and document review tools strongly desired.
Experience processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
Demonstrated knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations; applying exemptions.
Basic legal knowledge, including standard legal citation for motions and memorandum; experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
Additional Competencies
Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures.
Ability to consistently deliver high quality work under extreme pressure.
Proficiency in English (read/write/speak).
Independent work capability.
Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
Preferred Experience
Two years experience using Nuix Investigate for document review and tagging.
Two years experience processing FOIA requests for Federal agencies.
Fluency in statutory and regulatory guidelines for FOIA responses.
