Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. This position offers a Weekend Differential Premium! Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign‑on & relocation bonuses. Position schedule: Fulltime 3/12hr Weekend shifts (7am – 7pm). Schedule will be Saturday, Sunday and Monday or Friday. Training to take place during the weekdays prior to transferring to Weekend shift.
Inova Alexandria Hospital is a beautiful 318‑bed community hospital located in the city of Alexandria. Our OR is equipped with 11 OR suites and 4 Endoscopy Suites. Comprehensive range of surgical specialties to include orthopedics‑total joints, sports medicine, spine, general ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, vascular, neurosurgery, robotics, podiatry, and maxillofacial. Full range of Endoscopy services including Heartburn Treatment.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities
Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
Advocates for patients’ rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements
Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.
Preferred Experience & Certification
Strong scrubbing background
Experienced in Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, Robot & Vascular cases
Circulating and scrubbing experience
AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR
