Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an Operating Room RN Unit Supervisor to join our team full-time . This position will benefit from the Weekend Differential contract. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign-on & relocation bonuses.

Inova Alexandria Hospital is a beautiful 318-bed community hospital located in the city of Alexandria. Our OR is equipped with 11 OR suites and 4 Endoscopy Suites. Comprehensive range of surgical specialties to include, orthopedics-total joints, sports medicine, spine, general ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, vascular, neurosurgery, robotics, podiatry, and maxillofacial. Full range of Endoscopy services including Heartburn Treatment. Job Description

Position schedule: Fulltime (3/12hr shifts) Weekend Premium. Schedule will be rotation of Fri, Sat, Sun & Sat, Sun, Mon.
Training to take place during the weekdays prior to transferring to Weekend Premium shift

OR RN Unit Supervisor Responsibilities
Integrates evidence based practice and research into clinical and operational practice while serving as a physician Liaison and primary information resource and point of contact for the unit Participates in the analysis of unit based quality outcomes as well as development, deployment and enculturation of action plans that lead to systematic improvement in outcomes Provides individualized coaching and counseling to clinical staff on critical processes, standards and problem solving/critical thinking in a positive and non-punitive manner Serves as a role model to others in communication to patients, identifying concerns, diffusing potentially difficult situations and facilitating resolution Conducts effective safety huddles by making use of all relevant information and making appropriate decisions to ensure optimal outcomes Seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person Inova Health System is privileged to serve – every time, every touch Conducts quality checks to ensure compliance and team member adherence to high quality ISHAPED handoff Provides oversight of Registered Nurse rounding to ensure patient satisfaction and identify areas of opportunity May perform additional duties as assigned
OR RN Unit Supervisor Requirements
Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN/MSN within 1 year of hire License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association. Completion of revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days of hire
Preferred Experience
Prior Unit Supervisor, Charge RN, OR Service Leader experience in the OR Scrub and Circulating experience highly preferred AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR
