This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the Health & Wellness Director will oversee and drive member engagement in group exercise attendance and participation, drive revenue through personal training and collaborate and support participation in the Active Healthy Adults group exercise programming.
Essential Functions
Leads growth & development plan of the entire Group Exercise Department in collaboration with the Executive Director in order to drive new member engagement, existing members participation and overall quality programming.
Creation, implementation and management of group exercise instructors and personal training staff to ensure program quality and staff development.
Implement strategy for growing Personal Training revenue, and AHA scans in collaboration with AHA Director.
Implement strategy for creating the engaging and successful group schedule to drive group exercise participation growth.
Supports the Center Leadership Team in essential routine functions and operations within the Health & Wellness Department.
Trains and implements onboard process for Group Exercise Instructors and Personal Trainers in collaboration with Executive Director.
Develops and implements an intentional sales funnel process to ensure a quality personal training programming.
Manages equipment needs and replacements under Executive Director supervision.
Facilitates new member engagement in fitness programs in collaboration Membership Director to increase member engagement and retention.
Manages group exercise classes with direction of the Executive Director.
Recruits new members through community events, Corporate group exercise classes and programs.
Ensures proper implementation of policies and procedures through communication with all levels of leadership.
Build new community partnerships in the mid-south through Health & Wellness offerings.
Raises Philanthropic Dollars to align with branch goals and individual goals set forth by the Executive Director.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Certified Group Fitness Instructor, preferred Les Mills and/or experience in the fitness industry.
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification required (within 30 days of hire).
Must be reliable, punctual and responsible.
Ability to relate and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, committee members and event participants of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Promotes and incorporates the YMCA four core values and character development model in all branch activities.
Have a willingness and ability to provide good customer service to all event participants.
Work Schedule The full time work schedule for this position is generally Monday through Friday, 8:00am-6:00pm, though evenings, and weekends work may be required.

Salary $45,000-$55,000
