Bilingual Recovery Support Specialist – SAFE Family Recovery Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) assists clients who are in sustained recovery or have been directly impacted by addiction. Using a motivational approach, the RSS links clients to appropriate recovery services, provides ongoing support, and delivers services in community, office, and DCF regional settings.

Rate & Compensation Rate:

$21 per hour. Sign‑on bonus:

$2,000 (half upon hire, half at 1 year of service). Bilingual stipend available!

Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related human services field preferred. Experience in the substance‑use recovery field or lived recovery experience is required. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and possess a valid driver’s license.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide education on addiction recovery and facilitate linkages to appropriate services.

Administer toxicology screens and conduct SBIRT immediately upon referral.

Utilize the GAIN Short Screener (GAIN‑SS) to screen for mental health, substance‑use disorder, and violence/crime.

Provide Recovery Management Coaching (RMC) for up to six months post‑treatment through weekly check‑ins, diminishing contact as clients strengthen.

Proactively connect clients to local recovery resources, identify relapse early, and re‑engage clients in treatment as needed.

Assist clients in following child safety plans, deliver recovery education at all phases, and document clinical activity in the client record.

Coordinate linkages to community resources and refer to licensed substance‑use providers when appropriate.

Represent the agency at community forums and inter‑organizational committees.
