Crescent is searching for a Payroll Specialist
The Payroll Specialist will report to the Director of Support Services and will oversee all aspects of the timekeeping and payroll process for over 400 hourly employees. This position is a full-time salaried in‑office position 5 days/week.
Payroll Specialist duties and responsibilities:
Reviewing timesheets for accuracy
Entering data into payroll software and spreadsheets
Handling direct deposit requests and data transfers
Processing paper payroll checks for distribution
Processing wage garnishments
Process time, payroll, garnishment, and benefit reports
Manage vacation calculations for both unionized and non‑unionized staff
Manage timekeeping technologies, software, and hardware
Training management staff – new hires and front‑line staff on using payroll systems and app access
Adjusting pay for raises, bonuses, etc. based on company policies and specific contractual expectations
Requirements:
Payroll experience is desirable but not required
Some accounting experience is desirable but not required
Unbendable work ethic
Exceptional attention to detail and organization
Excellent mathematical and calculation skills
Multi‑Lingual needed with emphasis in Spanish and English – Verbal and Written
Ability to work in a Team environment
Flexible personality
Ability & desire to grow professionally
Understanding of different types of web‑based payroll software systems. Preferably EPAY(Blueforce) and/or WinTeam
Ability to learn new processes and procedures as needed
Knowledge of payroll, taxes, garnishments, and benefits distribution
Good research and analytical skills
