Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – RN Infection Prevention Certified
Location: Casa of Hobart | Hobart, IN
Schedule: Full-Time
Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the overall operations of the Nursing Department and helps translate the facility’s philosophy of care into everyday practice. This role assists the Director of Nursing (DON) in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care while ensuring excellence in resident outcomes, regulatory compliance, and staff engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing, organizing, and implementing nursing policies, objectives, and standards of care.
Partner with the Director of Nursing to assess and improve the quality of nursing services.
Support onboarding and training programs for new nursing staff.
Conduct daily rounds to monitor care quality, staff performance, and resident satisfaction.
Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory nursing requirements.
Perform or oversee rehabilitation and restorative nursing assessments and programs.
Collaborate with therapy departments (PT/OT/ST) to ensure resident care plans are followed.
Participate in care plan meetings and oversee completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) documentation.
Serve as a clinical resource and on-call leader as scheduled.
Demonstrate a customer‑first approach by ensuring compassionate, high‑quality care for all residents.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
Infection Prevention (IP) Certification required.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in long‑term care and prior management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, medications, and documentation standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and critical‑thinking skills.
