Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
About the role A growing construction/engineering/architecture firm is seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to join their finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the implementation of new accounting software, preparing timely month end and year end financial statements, managing fixed asset and lease accounting, and guiding junior staff.
Key responsibilities
Support the implementation of new accounting software and adhere to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Prepare timely month end and year end fiscal financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
Process monthly employee expense reports using Concur and reconcile automated accounts.
Maintain the fixed assets system for book and tax reporting.
Perform monthly bank account reconciliations and general ledger entries, including balance sheet account reconciliation.
Provide current knowledge of GAAP, including accrual and cash-based accounting and the conversion between the two methods.
Support monthly and quarterly state use tax returns for multiple states and prepare personal property tax and annual filings for multiple states.
Prepare quarterly key performance indicators and process accounts payable checks, vendor ACH, and employee ACH.
Coding of monthly office rent invoices and calculation of new lease standards.
Analyze new accounting standards and implement according to GAAP.
Assist in preparation of annual and mid-year budgets/projections, company budgets, and by-office budgets.
Assist with the annual book audit and preparation of income tax returns.
Guide junior accountant and other staff and provide financial dashboards and file maker reporting.
Available to assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable when necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or related field).
4+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience.
Excellent technical skills with proficiency in ERP implementations and advanced Excel usage.
Strong understanding of GAAP, including accrual and cash-based accounting.
Self-driven, focused, and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
