Job Summary The Transaction Advisory Services Manager is responsible for managing financial, accounting and operational due diligence engagements. You will plan and oversee the due diligence process, apply BDO standards, analyze financial and operating results, conduct industry and accounting research, conduct interviews with C-level personnel, identify and resolve critical M&A issues, compose due diligence reports, manage relationships between BDO, client and target company, partner with senior managers to pursue business development, and build new and existing relationships within BDO.
Job Duties
Plan and oversee the due diligence process, applying BDO standards to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality services.
Analyze financial and operating results within the context of a proposed transaction.
Perform industry, company and technical accounting research to assist the client.
Conduct interviews with C-level personnel at target company.
Identify and propose resolutions to critical M&A issues.
Compose financial due diligence report, highlighting key quality of earnings, working capital and debt‑like issues.
Manage the relationship and information flow between BDO, client and target company.
Partner with TAS Senior Managers, Directors and Principals to pursue business development opportunities.
Build new relationships and maintain existing relationships with BDO professionals in other lines of business.
Research and develop proposal documents and participate in presentations to acquire new clients.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Schedule and supervise tasks and project assignments of TAS Associates and Senior Associates.
Review work product and provide feedback and edits.
Provide training and professional development opportunities.
Give performance feedback throughout fiscal year and as part of annual performance review.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance (required).
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Five (5) or more years of public accounting experience.
Two (2) or more years of TAS experience (preferred).
Experience interacting directly with C-level personnel (preferred).
CPA, CPA candidate, or CA (preferred).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong verbal and written communication skills; business writing proficiency.
Ability to adapt communication style to all management levels.
Executive presence, intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking.
Capability to build solid client relationships and leverage industry networks for business development.
Capacity to work independently and in a team in a deadline‑driven environment.
Able to analyze large data volumes and propose suitable resolutions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent project management and attention to detail.
Strong knowledge of technical accounting (US GAAP).
Willingness to travel as needed.
Experience
Five (5) or more years of public accounting experience.
Two (2) or more years of TAS experience.
License/Certifications
CPA, CPA candidate, or CA.
