Protective Services Specialist 1/2 – Anchorage (PCN 063764M) This full‑time position is open to Alaska residents and requires a valid Alaska driver’s license. The Protective Services Specialist (PSS) works in the Office of Children’s Services (OCS) and is responsible for child protection services, including investigations, planning, and coordination of in‑home/out‑of‑home services.

What You Will Be Doing The PSS will investigate reports of child abuse and neglect, prepare intervention plans, collect family information, work with families and agencies, provide ongoing case management, file court reports, and maintain communications with Tribal and community partners.

Responsibilities

Investigate reports of child abuse and/or neglect.

Develop and implement intervention plans.

Gather family dynamics and assess protective factors.

Coordinate placement of children when necessary.

Write and submit reports to the court.

Maintain collaboration with Tribal/Community Partners and other agencies.

Qualifications & Competencies

Stress tolerance, self‑management, decision making, advocacy (levels specified).

Child protective history check performed as part of background screening.

Valid Alaska driver’s license.

Mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use on work‑related matters.

Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, weekends, and on‑call as required.
