Smart4Chemicals is seeking to recruit an
Engineering Director
for a global leader in the polymers and advanced materials sector, based in Houston, Texas.
As an Engineering Director, you will
lead the company’s capital expenditure program , oversee the design and implementation of major projects, and drive continuous engineering innovation to optimize carbon black plant operations and maximize energy recovery. You will also provide strategic engineering leadership across domestic and international operations, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and direct all capital projects, including review and approval of RFEs, budget management, and schedule adherence.
Develop and implement engineering solutions to optimize plant operations and energy recovery systems.
Provide technical leadership and support to global operations and technology licensees.
Establish corporate engineering policies, standard equipment designs, and process optimization strategies.
Lead the development and execution of energy recovery projects, including steam and power generation.
Manage engineering staff and external contractors, fostering a team-oriented environment.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets and contribute to strategic business planning.
Key Requirements
B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; MS or MBA preferred.
Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record in managing large-scale capital projects and budgets.
Strong technical expertise in process optimization and energy recovery systems.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency with integrated information systems.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
