Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Principal Mechanical Engr. - Lead Development located in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area. This highly experienced Lead Development Manager/Engineer will assume the primary technical leadership role for a neurostimulation lead at a new startup company, overseeing the design and development of a peripheral nerve lead for an advanced neuromodulation system.
Key responsibilities include creating and refining machine designs, utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, leading research and development projects, managing project timelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet product development goals.
Qualifications
10+ years professional experience in medical device lead development
Deep experience with active implantable lead systems, including typical mechanical and electrical characteristics of functional stimulation leads, materials and manufacturing processes
Demonstrated success at executing and delivering on lead development for an implantable neuromodulation system
Very high proficiency in Mechanical Engineering principles
Strong capabilities in Project Management, with an ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
Proven experience in Research and Development (R&D) within the medical device industry
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and technical communication skills
Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards and design controls for medical devices
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or a related field
