Managing Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety
to address a wide array of safety challenges, including:
Auditing/Assessments
Behavior-Based Safety
Biohazards
Chemical or Lab Safety
Data Analysis
Electrical safety and NFPA 70E
Fire Prevention
Industrial Hygiene
Laser Safety
Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
Machine Guarding
Process Hazard Assessments
Robotics Safety
Safety Process Improvement
Responsibilities
Help develop and implement innovative health and safety programs and strategies in areas such as IIPP, hazard communication, occupational health, safety management systems, process safety, and industrial hygiene.
Identify and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist with collection, review, and analysis of field data to evaluate conditions, present information, and implement effective solutions.
Provide training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments to improve client safety performance.
Participate as an enthusiastic team member on project teams and effectively complete assignments.
Learn and grow through internal and external training and exposure to interesting projects.
Spend time onsite with clients throughout the Bay Area to solve pressing health and safety challenges.
Assist innovative companies in developing solutions to technical and regulatory issues.
Understand how your work affects client business objectives and help them achieve these objectives.
Build and nurture client relationships to exceed expectations and drive repeat business.
Develop a professional network within and outside ERM to leverage skills and solve multidisciplinary client challenges.
Act as an active team member on projects and ensure quality standards on deliverables.
Build strong collaborative relationships with clients and ERM employees.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related science.
4+ years of relevant experience in technology, pharmaceutical/biotech, manufacturing, power, chemical, or oil and gas sectors.
Knowledge of California regulations and applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
Experience managing direct reports and/or project staff, scoping and managing project budgets and expenses.
Willingness to travel within the San Francisco Bay Area and occasionally outside the local area.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Effective client communication skills.
Good team player, especially during challenging situations.
Strong work ethic with a passion to learn, grow, and thrive.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle for frequent travel.
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred
Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental, Chemical, Engineering, or a related science.
CSP, CIH, or similar certification/qualification.
Compensation Annual base pay: $100,474 – $127,553 USD. Pay may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, performance, and business needs. The role also includes an annual discretionary performance bonus.
