Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Systems Backup Engineer with experience in Avamar, Commvault, Veritas, and related enterprise backup solutions. The role requires hands‑on administration of Enterprise backup systems and proficiency with the following technologies: Avamar, Commvault, Cloud backup solutions, Veritas, EMC, and Dell backup technologies.
On‑site in Cypress, CA. Base salary $110K–$123K. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship is offered.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor backup completions and respond to restore requests efficiently.
Knowledge of server crash recovery and data recall techniques to prevent business disruptions.
Understanding of enterprise data production environments and customer‑driven backup solutions.
Hands‑on experience with Enterprise backup administration and system administration.
Design and implement backup infrastructure solutions for data protection and disaster recovery.
Conduct system administration tasks and provide ongoing support for IT systems.
Analyze and troubleshoot system issues, applying effective problem‑solving techniques.
Collaborate with team members to define policies and procedures for system operations and security.
Manage system integration tasks to ensure seamless operation across various platforms.
Develop and maintain documentation for system designs and concepts of operations.
Implement cloud‑based solutions as well as manage on‑premise systems effectively.
Perform performance testing and ensure systems meet capacity requirements.
Monitor system health and perform software updates, including security patches.
Utilize backup methodologies and security standards to safeguard data integrity.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of IT experience.
Proven experience in system administration and backup and storage engineering.
Familiarity with cloud technologies and on‑premise infrastructure management.
Solid experience with backup solutions such as Avamar, Data Domain, and Dell EMC Networker.
Understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, LAN/WAN, VPN, and load balancer configurations.
Ability to analyze problems and troubleshoot effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
